Todd's key strength was his adaptability in all aspects of the home buying process. First, he rapidly adapted his interactions with us to meet our specific needs. My partner is a former Realtor and I was a relative novice to the home-buying process, and Todd handily shifted the level of detail and assumptions of understanding he provided to accommodate the information needs we each had. He could effectively communicate with both of us at the levels we each desired, without losing important details and accuracy. His timeliness of communication was also spot-on, with excellent responsiveness particularly during time-sensitive matters. During discussions of home prices and values, Todd was objective and realistic, offering just the right kind of guidance to keep our emotions in check. When we found our perfect home, we ended up offering just a bit more than we had originally told him would be our maximum for the property. When we told Todd the offer amount we wanted to go with, his response was "Really?", and then made us explain our reasoning. This was just the right amount of pressure to ensure that our decision was not made purely on emotion, and offered enough guidance to allow confidence in our decision. Todd possesses a broad repertoire of negotiation styles, and demonstrated a skillful ability to shift between styles depending on what kinds of leverage needed to be applied. For example, in a multiple-offer situation he was able to communicate how our offer provided the seller with the things they wanted, while retaining all of the things we wanted for us. Todd has a rock-solid knowledge of the market and neighborhoods we were interested in (East Vancouver & Camas). Beyond the basics we provided, Todd used the vague cues and comments we offered during home tours to rapidly focus his understanding of the type of home we were interested in to help identify worthwhile prospective homes as soon as they were listed. Todd is an easygoing realtor who wants the best for his clients. He is not pushy or obtrusive which allows the clients space to make their own decisions and he is there for support when needed. It was our first time buying a home and Todd was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We were very happy with Todd as our realtor. Our family moved from out of state in February 2017. He initially met with my husband the summer before. Even though we were not sure about a lot of things, he was very responsive to any questions we had. We were dealing with selling our home and also buying a home in the Portland area. We were not sure what area we wanted to buy in. Todd was patient when it came to showing us houses in different areas in different price ranges. I have nothing but good things to share about Todd. He comes off as laid back and casual – but really what it is, is wholesome and true. He guided me through a very awkward experience of trying to buy something that I already lived in – only to find me something better – that I love! He was honest, thoughtful, and straight forward. It was my first experience buying, and he held my hand when I needed him to, but also let me take the reins when I felt like something was important. There is NO better realtor to help you when you're looking for a home to buy! Todd met with my husband and me when we first started out, and was careful to ensure he fully understood our search parameters (which tended to vary depending on how many homes we'd already seen). Although some buyers might think that they can easily find a home themselves just by using Zillow (I know I did), I was quick to learn that Todd had access to other channels and found homes that met or exceeded our search criteria that hadn't even been posted to Zillow yet. This was particularly important given the current hot market, in which homes sell even before they're listed. Todd really does his homework and saves you from looking at things that look good on paper only. Within a couple of weeks, we found our dream home, which ended up being a flip. The realtor (also the seller) was extremely inexperienced, and Todd had to struggle with many seller bungles, miscommunications, and oversights (due to seller naivity?), just so my husband and I could get this house we'd had our hearts set on. Other realtors probably would have advised us to pass on the home. Long story short, Todd was communicative, patient, friendly, thoughtful, and thorough. He worked HARD with the seller to get us the home (and major repairs done) at a great price. We are now moved into the home, and all our "asks" have been satisfied. Todd truly went above and beyond, and we will always be grateful to him. If you want someone who truly has your best interests at heart, even though those interests might cause him some grief, then Todd is the agent for you!
